Montgomery Notches Fifth Career Triple-Double

Seahawks lose to Charleston in four sets

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Brynn Montgomery notched a triple-double and Kyla Augustine tied her career-high with 13 kills, but it wasn't enough as UNCW fell in four sets to the College of Charleston on Saturday at Hanover Hall.

The Cougars improved to 3-2 with the win and 2-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Seahawks, meanwhile, slid to 0-8 and 0-5.

Montgomery 11 kills, 25 assists and 12 digs for her second triple-double of the season and the fifth of her career.

Joining Montgomery and Augustine in double-figure kills was Brianna Haggerty who finished with a career-high of 11 kills and 13 digs for her first career double-double.

Jazzell Mangosing tied her career-high of 21 digs for the Seahawks.

After dropping the first set, CofC rebounded to win three straight sets.

Lexi Wierzbicki held match-high honors with 14 kills while Logan Pope and Claire Campbell added 13 and 10, respectively.

The series concludes on Sunday with a 1 p.m. start.
