Chants Edge Seahawks In Women's Tennis

CONWAY, South Carolina – Host Coastal Carolina won four singles matches to edge UNCW, 4-3, in a non-conference women's tennis match on Thursday at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
 
The Seahawks opened the match by claiming the doubles point when Anna Parker-Shumate and Maddy Muller-Hughes defeated CCU's Mathilde Tranberg and Jesse Hollins, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles and the No. 3 team of Anna Daniels and Brinley Bell won by walkover.
 
Senior Rachel Marthinsen halted CCU's Valentina Urelli, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 3 singles for the second point and sophomore Brinley Bell won by walkover at No. 6 singles for UNCW's third point.
 
The Seahawks, 1-2, return home for their next match, entertaining Campbell on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m.
