WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – No. 13 Wake Forest sailed to its ninth win of the season with a 7-0 decision over visiting UNCW late Sunday at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.

The Demon Deacons won their sixth in a row to raise their record to 9-2. The Seahawks now stand 2-2 after splitting a pair of weekend matches.

Since the start of the 2016-17 season, Wake Forest owns a 68-1 record in home matches, including an unblemished 35-0 mark over the last three seasons.

On Sunday, Wake Forest won the doubles point with victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions and then swept all six singles matches in straight sets for the final verdict.

The Demon Deacons, who defeated ACC rival Louisville earlier in the day, 4-1, feature five players ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top-100 and two of those netters – No. 92 Rrezart Cungu and No. 107 Taha Baadi – played in Sunday's late match.

The Seahawks are idle until Thursday, Mar. 4, when they entertain Campbell in a 1 p.m. match at the UNCW Courts.
