UNCW Falls In Five On Senior Day

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Four Seahawks finished with double-digit kills, but William & Mary outlasted UNCW in five sets on Senior Day in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action on Sunday at Hanover Hall.

The Tribe improved to 5-14 overall and 2-12 in the CAA with the road win. The Seahawks, meanwhile, dropped o 4-21 and 3-11 in the conference.
William & Mary's Maddie Meyer held match-high honors with 15 kills while Julia Brown added 12. Anna Porter finished with a match-high 22 digs, finishing the series with 51 to her credit.

For UNCW, Katie Lanz was joined by Brooke Hanshumaker and Kirsten Badowski with 11 kills. Sarah Blakely, a senior, added 10.
UNCW forced a fifth set with a 25-17 win in the fourth.

In the deciding set, UNCW held a 16-15 lead but couldn't finish off the match. The Tribe rallied with a 3-0 burst to close out the win.

The Seahawks visit the College of Charleston on Nov. 13-14 in their final matches of the season.
