Blue Hens Take Seahawks In Four

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Katie Lanz collected 14 kills to lead UNCW in a 3-1 loss to visiting Delaware on Saturday in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action at Hanover Hall.

The Blue Hens captured their second straight win to improve to 7-9 overall and 2-5 in the league. UNCW, meanwhile, fell to 1-14 and 1-4.

While Lanz led the Seahawks in kills, Delaware's Lani Mason held match-high honors with 16 and was joined in double figures by Kirah Johnson with 12.

Mason completed a double-double with 17 digs. Katie Tuner added 18 digs of her own.

Led by Grace Undewood and Ezgi Basaraniar with five aces apiece, the Blue Hens recorded 13 services aces on the afternoon.

UNCW's Quinn Manley had a match-high 24 digs.

The Seahawks and Blue Hens round out the weekend series on Sunday with a 1 p.m. start.
