WILMINGTON, North Carolina – No. 15 Michigan shot 1-over par to take the early lead after the opening round of The Landfall Tradition on Friday afternoon at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course.
The Wolverines posted a 289 team score in the first round and hold a one-shot lead over No. 4 Virginia. No. 6 South Carolina, No. 9 Texas and No. 33 Clemson are tied for third place after carding 3-over par results.

Justine Fournand owns the individual leaderboard lead after firing a 5-under par 67 in the first round. The Erstein, France, native posted five birdies without a bogey and has a one-stroke lead over NC State junior
Inja Fric.
UNCW, which closed play in 18th place, was led by redshirt freshman
Deborah Spair's 6-over par 78.
Notes: Michigan and Furman each shot 6-under par on par-5 holes to lead the field … The Wolverines were also one of two teams to register an eagle in the first round, joining Purdue … A total of 18 players shot even par or better in the first round … The average individual score in the first round was 75.65.
