Blakely Sets Season-High In Kills

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Sarah Blakely's season-high 11 kills led UNCW on the afternoon in a 3-0 loss to James Madison as the Dukes earned a split of the Colonial Athletic Association volleyball series on Sunday at Hanover Hall.

The Dukes ran their record to 13-5 on the season and 7-3 in the league. UNCW, meanwhile, dropped to 3-18 and 2-8.

Leading the way for JMU were Miette Veldman and Sophia Davis with 13 and 12 kills, respectively. The Dukes hit an impressive .423 on the match, committing just five hitting errors.

Savannah Marshall of JMU held match-high honors with 15 digs.

Blakely hit .304 on the afternoon in 23 attacks.

The Seahawks visit Hofstra next weekend for a pair of CAA matches on Oct. 30-31.
