GREENSBORO, Georgia – Senior
Thao My Nguyen earned a seventh place finish after carding a 1-over-par 73 during the final round of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
Led by Nguyen, the Seahawks posted a 297 team score during the third round to finish the tournament in a tie for fifth place with South Alabama. Auburn won the team title after completing the 54-hole event at 8-under-par, including a 279 score on Sunday.
Nguyen, who posted a 69-74-73=216 tournament score, posted nine birdies during the event, including two birdies on Sunday, en route to earning her 10th career top-10 finish.
Junior
Rachael Mast earned a share of 28th place after firing a 1-over-par 73 for the second consecutive round while sophomore
Phu Khine was tied for 33rd place at 13-over-par (77-78-74=229).
"It was a good finish today," Coach
Cindy Ho said. "We played much better and had many birdie opportunities. It was a strong finish for Thao My and it is great for her confidence heading into the rest of the spring."
