Roupp Ties Career High In UNCW Win

Junior righty fanned 11 in UNCW's 3-2 win over Bryant

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Junior Landen Roupp tied a career high with 11 strikeouts as UNCW clipped Bryant, 3-2, on Saturday at Brooks Field.

The Seahawks improved to 2-0 with the win while the Bulldogs, who dropped a game to Dayton earlier in the day, fell to 0-3 on the young season.
Roupp (1-0) picked up the win, allowing two unearned runs on six hits over six innings.

BU's Tyler Schoff (0-1) was tagged with the loss despite allowing three runs, two earned, and limiting UNCW to four hits over six innings.
UNCW reliever Gage Herring nailed down the save going the final 1.1 innings.

Shane Kelly and Vincenzo Castronovo both had two hits for the Bulldogs. Jake Gustin drove in both runs with a two-run single in the third for a 2-0 lead.

Cole Weiss and Kip Brandenburg drove in runs as UNCW answered with three runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead.

Up next: The Seahawks close out the weekend with a pair of games on Sunday. UNCW takes on Dayton at 10 a.m. and then Bryant 30 min following game 1.
