GREENVILLE, South Carolina – Sophomore
Phu Khine authored her fifth career top-10 finish with a seventh place showing as UNCW completed play at the Furman Paladin Invitational at the Furman University Golf Course on Sunday afternoon.
Led by Khine, the Seahawks finished their second tournament of the season with a sixth place effort after shooting a 300 team score in the final round. Wake Forest held off the host Paladins to win the team title by five strokes.
Khine, who entered the final round in second place, ended the tournament at one-under par (73-69-73=215) after closing the weekend with a one-over par 73. She authored nine birdies over the 54-hole event, including three birdies in Sunday's final round.
Sophomore
Amy Wooten moved up four spots in the final standings to earn a tie of 32nd place after shooting a two-over par 74 in the final round while senior
Thao My Nguyen followed in 37th place with a 76-75-76=227 tournament score.
Freshman
Mallory Fobes finished in a tie for 38th place after shooting a five-over par 77 in the final round, closing out the tournament with a 72-79-77=228 score.
Up Next: The Seahawks will be idle until Oct. 11-13 when they compete at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
