WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Senior
Haley Lenderman authored her fifth shutout of the season as UNCW blanked Drexel, 1-0, in the finale of the Colonial Athletic Association softball series at Boseman Field on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who ended a three-game losing skid, improved to 22-18 overall and 4-5 in the CAA. Drexel, meanwhile, saw an end to its eight-game win streak and stands at 23-12-1 overall and 7-2 in the circuit.
Lenderman, who evened her record to 8-8 in the circle, scattered just three hits in her ninth complete game effort of the season. She also recorded a pair of strikeouts in the victory.
Junior Devon Grippe took the loss for Drexel, giving up one run on one hit with two strikeouts and two walks.
