Pack Hits Four Homers In 11-3 Win Over UNCW


RALEIGH, N.C. – UNCW surrendered a season-high four home runs as nationally-ranked NC State beat the Seahawks, 11-3, on Tuesday at Doak Field at Dail Park.

The Wolfpack swept the season series between the teams and ran its record to 34-12 while the Seahawks dipped under .500 at 23-24.

Evan Edwards pounded his 12th and 13th homers of the season while Terrell Tatum, who drove in four runs, and Patrick Bailey also homered. Brad Debo had three hits.

NCSU's Cameron Cotter (4-3) earned the win.

Rian Haire (0-1) took the loss after surrendering both runs in the second inning as NCSU took an early lead.

Up next: Following tonight's game, the Seahawks will play nothing but conference games until the end of the season. UNCW hosts Delaware for three games beginning on Friday at 6 p.m.

How it happened: The Pack roughed up the Seahawks for five runs on six hits, including three home runs to take a 7-0 lead through two innings.

Notes: Greg Jones swiped his 30th base of the season to move into a tie for fourth on UNCW's single season list … Cole Weiss singled in the fifth to extend his hitting streak to eight games … Kep Brown's consecutive games reached safely is now at 30 games after an eighth-inning single.
