Seahawks Swept At Home By Tribe


WILMINGTON, N.C. – Freshman Zach Tsakounis cruised through six shutout innings as William & Mary held off UNCW late for a 3-2 win in Colonial Athletic Association baseball action on Sunday at Brooks Field.

The Tribe finished off a sweep to improve to 19-7 overall and 4-2 in the conference. UNCW fell to 15-14 and 3-3.

The Seahawks were swept at home in conference play for the first time since 1998.

Tsakounis (4-0) earned the win, scattering six hits, walking two and striking out four. Chris Farrell converted his fourth save of the season.

Cole Weiss, Greg Jones and Lucas Oxendine had two hits apiece for the Seahawks.

Gage Herring (0-2) took the loss, allowing three runs, all unearned.

Up next: The Seahawks visit Campbell on Apr. 2 at 6 p.m.
