Diamond Hawks Fall To Memphis, 10-8


MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Kep Brown drove in four runs and belted his third home run of the season, but Memphis was able to overcome an early deficit for a 10-8 win on Saturday at FedExPark.

The Tigers improved to 9-8 with the win and 6-6 at home. The Seahawks, meanwhile, fell to 11-9.

A balanced offense for Memphis saw five hitter with two hits and six drove in runs.

Alex Smith (2-1) picked up the win in relief and Colton Neel nailed down the save in the ninth despite loading the bases.

Brown led four Seahawks with two-hit games. Doug Angeli drove in two runs.

Blake Morgan (2-1) took the loss out of the bullpen. Morgan surrendered three runs over two innings.

Up next: The series concludes on Sunday with a noon CST start.

How it happened: The Seahawk bullpen allowed the leadoff hitter to reach safely from the fourth through eighth innings and each runner scored.

Notes: Cole Weiss singled in his first at bat and now has an 11-game hitting streak … The Seahawks are now 1-2 on the road.
