WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Senior center Chinyere Bell scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds as UNCW closed out its home schedule with a 72-64 Colonial Athletic Association victory over Delaware at Trask Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

The Seahawks, who snapped a three-game losing streak, ran their record to 16-10 overall and 9-6 in the CAA while moving past Delaware into fourth place in the CAA standings. The Blue Hens, meanwhile, had their three-game win streak halted and fell to 13-13 overall with an 8-6 mark in the circuit.

Bell, who registered her first career 20-point outing, made 6-of-10 field goal attempts while sinking 8-of-11 free throws as the Seahawks ended a seven-game losing streak to the Blue Hens.

Redshirt junior guard GiGi Smith added 19 points and four rebounds while setting career highs with five assists and five steals. Junior guard Lacey Suggs chipped in 12 points, making 3-of-9 shots from the floor and 6-of-8 free throws.

Delaware was led by redshirt senior guard Alison Lewis, who registered a career-high 20 points with seven rebounds. Junior forward Rebecca Lawrence made 9-of-11 field goal attempts en route to a career-high 19 points while adding four rebounds.

Key Moment: UNCW used nine consecutive points from Bell to break a 44-all tie late in the third quarter to take a 53-44 lead the Seahawks did not relinquish. Delaware narrowed the margin to 64-62 with 1:59 remaining, but the Seahawks sealed the victory with an 8-0 run in the closing moments.
