WILMINGTON, N.C. – Shane Hanon drove in the game's lone run in the sixth inning as Marshall edged UNCW, 1-0, in the final game of the Hughes Bros. Challenge on Sunday at Brooks Field.
The Herd evened their record at 4-4 on the season after going 3-1 over the weekend. The Seahawks, meanwhile, also saw the record move to 4-4 after a 1-2 weekend with a pair of 1-0 losses.
Marshall reliever Patrick Murphy (1-0) picked up the win out of the bullpen and Michael Guerrero nailed down his first save of the season, retiring the Seahawks in order.

Justin Walke (0-2) took the loss in relief.
Matt Suggs had two hits for the Seahawks.
Erik Rodriguez and Zach Inskeep both had two hits apiece for the Herd.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Rodriguez greeted Walke with a bunt single to open the sixth. He stole second and scored one batter later when Hanon laced a single into center field.
