WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Freshman guard Keishana Washington scored a season-high 21 points, including 13 in the second half, as Drexel held off a late charge by UNCW to earn a 65-53 victory over the Seahawks in Colonial Athletic Association women's basketball action at Trask Coliseum on Friday night.
The Dragons, who extended their NCAA-leading road win streak to 13 consecutive games, ran their record to 19-5 overall and 11-2 in the CAA. UNCW, meanwhile, dropped to 15-10 overall and 8-6 in the CAA after suffering its first home loss of the season.
Washington, who notched her third consecutive double-digit effort, made 8-of-12 shots from the field, including a 3-for-6 effort from long range, while chipping in three rebounds and three assists.
Junior forward Bailey Greenberg added 14 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season while junior forward Niki Metzel added 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the floor and a 5-for-6 showing at the free throw line.

Key Moment: UNCW closed to within 32-29 early in the third quarter before the Dragons pulled away by going on a 10-0 run over a four-minute span. Washington netted five of her points to ignite the run as Drexel never trailed the rest of the way.
