Chinyere Bell each notched a double-double as UNCW won its fourth straight game, a 66-58 Colonial Athletic Association victory over William & Mary at Trask Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who have won 12 consecutive home games, upped their record to 15-7 overall and 8-3 in the CAA. William & Mary, meanwhile, dropped its fourth straight contest to fall to 11-11 overall and 4-7 in the circuit.
Suggs, who hails from White Lake, N.C., registered her fourth straight double-digit scoring effort after making 5-of-10 shots from the floor, including a career-best four three-point field goals, while sinking all four free throws. She also added a season-high eight rebounds and four steals while playing all 40 minutes.
Smith added 15 points with a career-high 11 rebounds and four steals while Bell contributed her first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Junior guard
Ahyiona Vason completed a quartet of double-digit scorers for the Seahawks by chipping in 13 points with five assists.
The Tribe was led by freshman guard Eva Hodgson, who netted a season-high 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field and a 4-for-6 effort at the free throw line. Senior guard Bianca Boggs added a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds while junior Victoria Reynolds tallied 10 points.
Key Moment: UNCW held William & Mary scoreless for the final 6:22 of regulation while converting 8-of-16 free throws to break a 58-all tie and secure the victory. Bell netted four of her 10 points during the closing minutes to record her second career double-double.
