WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Visiting Coastal Carolina used a sizzling start to build an early lead and never looked back as the Chanticleers secured a 62-43 victory over UNCW in non-conference women's basketball action at Trask Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

The Seahawks head into the school's final exam period with a 3-5 record after falling for the second time in three outings. Coastal Carolina, meanwhile, upped its record to 7-1 after winning its third game in a row.

Senior guard DJ Williams led three Coastal Carolina players in double figures after registering a double-double with 17 points and a season-high 12 rebounds. Senior center Naheria Hamilton also fashioned a double-double, scoring 10 points with 12 rebounds, while senior guard Torrie Cash chipped in 13 points.

- Coastal Carolina made its first visit to Trask Coliseum since Dec. 15, 2009 … The Chanticleers earned their second straight win in the series, but UNCW still retains a 23-7 all-time advantage.
- Smith led the Seahawks in scoring for the seventh time in eight games this year … The Norfolk, Va., product also upped her career point total to 975 points in 102 career games between Old Dominion and UNCW.
- Coastal Carolina forced UNCW into making a season-high 22 turnovers, which the Chanticleers converted into 32 points … The Chanticleers also had a 30-26 edge on points in the paint.
- Coastal Carolina outrebounded the Seahawks by a 41-33 margin, including an 18-11 edge on the offensive glass.
