WILMINGTON, North Carolina – No. 9 South Carolina overcame an 11-stroke deficit by shooting a five-under par 283 as the Gamecocks earned their second Landfall Tradition title with a five-shot victory over No. 13 Alabama at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course on Sunday afternoon.
The Gamecocks, who earned their second Landfall Tradition crown in the last four years, finished the tournament at seven-under par with a 289-285-283=857 team score. Alabama, meanwhile, finished second in the 18-team field at two-under par (285-278-299=862).
Senior Ana Pelaez paced South Carolina by finishing in second place at five-under par, recording a 71-71-69=211 tournament score. It marked her best finish since earning medalist honors at the 2017 NCAA Columbus Regional.
Alabama junior Angelica Moresco finished in a tie for third place with South Carolina's Pauline Roussin-Bouchard after both players carded identical three-under par results for the 54-hole event.
Junior Priscilla Schmid of Indiana won the individual title after matching her career-best score with a seven-under 209, including a four-under 68 in the final round.

Phu Khine, who finished the tournament in a tie for 48th place at eight-over par (74-74-76=224). Senior
Thao My Nguyen paced the Seahawks in the final round with a two-over par 74 to finish the tournament in a tie for 55th place.
Notes: South Carolina won its second team title of the season after winning the Windy City Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 1 … It is the first time the Gamecocks have won multiple titles in the same season since 2014-15 … Schmid is the first Indiana women's golfer to earn an individual title since Mary Parsons won the Lady Boilermaker Classic last April … Schmid also led the tournament field in par-3 scoring at three-under par while her 13 birdies were tied for the tournament lead … The tournament scoring average was 74.93 and there were 13 eagles recorded in the three-day event … The Gamecocks tallied a tournament-high 49 birdies.
