Volleyball Extends Winning Streak to Four

Seahawks sweep visiting Camels on Tuesday


WILMINGTON, N.C. – Ten kills apiece for seniors Anna Moss and Maddy Kline lifted UNCW past visiting Campbell in a sweep (25-21, 25-19, 25-15) in volleyball action on Tuesday at Hanover Hall.

The win raised UNCW's record to 4-3 and extended its winning streak to four straight matches. The Camels. Who have now dropped their last three, dipped to 2-5.

The Seahawks, who were playing their home opener, have now won their last nine home matches against their longtime rival and owns a 19-3 record in Wilmington in the series.

The Seahawks fashioned another balanced and efficient attack as four hitters finished with at least six kills. Junior Kendall Bender had six in 10 swings and sophomore Brynn Montgomery added six kills and 12 assists.

Bender continued her strong play at the net, finishing with five blocks as the Seahawks out blocked the Camels, 9-2.

Defensively, senior Katie McCullough held match-high honors with 20 digs.

For the Camels, Jessica Stocking posted nine kills in a match-high 31 attacks while Sarah Colla chipped in seven kills.

Setter Madee Miner doled out 20 assists for the Camels while UNCW senior Michaela White had 22.

The Seahawks visit Charlottesville this weekend for the Jefferson Cup, hosted by Virginia. UNCW opens their weekend schedule against George Mason on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and will turn around and take on the host Cavaliers at 7 p.m.
