Emil Elveroth each netted a goal as No. 14 UNCW remained unbeaten in Colonial Athletic Association play after posting a 2-0 victory over James Madison at UNCG Soccer Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who earned their first win over the Dukes since 2013, upped their record to 7-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the CAA. James Madison, meanwhile, dropped to 5-3-1 overall with a 3-1-0 mark in league play.
Lozano gave the Seahawks a 1-0 lead with 15:04 remaining in the first half when he scored his second goal of the season off assists from Elveroth and senior midfielder
Ben Fisher.
Elveroth added his team-leading sixth goal of the year off an assist from freshman
Cesar Cruz with 12:54 left in regulation to extend the UNCW margin to 2-0.
Redshirt senior goalkeeper
Ryan Cretens made six saves for the Seahawks to earn his fifth solo shutout of the year as James Madison outshot UNCW, 11-10.
Redshirt sophomore TJ Bush tallied two saves in the loss for James Madison, which saw an end to its four-game win streak.
