CARY, North Carolina – Junior midfielder Jack Skahan scored the game's only goal in the 34th minute as No. 3 North Carolina held off No. 12 UNCW for a 1-0 victory in non-conference men's soccer action at WakeMed Soccer Park on Tuesday evening.
The victory elevated the Tar Heels' record to 8-1-0 while extending their win streak to seven straight games. UNCW, meanwhile, dropped to 7-2-1 and had a four-match unbeaten streak snapped.
Skahan, who tallied his first goal of the season, gave the Tar Heels their one-goal advantage with 11:49 remaining in the first half when he slipped a shot past redshirt senior goalkeeper

Senior goalkeeper James Pyle recorded two saves for North Carolina, which outshot UNCW by an 8-6 margin.
