Ryan Cretens made six saves as No. 11 UNCW opened Colonial Athletic Association play by earning a scoreless draw against Hofstra at Elon's Rudd Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who were playing their first game in 13 days due to Hurricane Florence, saw their record move to 5-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the CAA. Hofstra, meanwhile, extended its unbeaten streak to five straight matches and has a 3-3-3 overall record along with a 0-0-1 mark in league play.
Cretens recorded his fourth solo shutout of the season with his six-save effort as Hofstra outshot the Seahawks by a slim 12-11 margin.
Senior goalkeeper Alex Ashton posted four saves en route to recording his fifth consecutive clean sheet for the Pride.
