Moss Leads UNCW In Loss At #25 CSU

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State, ranked 25th-nationally, earned a sweep of UNCW (25-18, 25-18, 25-18) behind a balanced offense that had four players finish with at least seven kills and combined for a .286 hitting average.

The Rams, who dropped their season-opener last night in five sets to #12Illinois, evened their record at 1-1 while the Seahawks dipped to 0-3.

"Anna Moss played a fearless match today against Colorado State," said UNCW Head Coach Amy Bambenek. "I'm proud of her efforts. Kyla (Augustine) also added a spark of quality play. Overall, this has been a worthwhile trip, but there is still a lot of work to be done to get to where we want to be this season."

Moss paced the Seahawks with nine kills in 19 attacks and added three blocks. Kyla Augustine, meanwhile, added four kills as UNCW had five players with four kills apiece.

Paulina Hougaard-Jensen headed up that impressive CSU offense with 10 kills while Kirstie Hillyer and Sasha Colombo added nine apiece.

The Seahawks return to the court next on Aug. 31 when they take on Norfolk State on the first day of the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown.
