Phillip Goodrum scored two goals and senior midfielder
David Lozano added a goal with an assist as UNCW earned a 4-0 men's soccer victory over Stetson in the season opener for both teams at Patriots Point on Friday evening.
The Seahawks needed just 32 seconds to take a 1-0 lead as Lozano converted a penalty kick attempt after Stetson was called for a foul.
UNCW increased its lead to 4-0 by scoring three times over a 15-minute span during the second half. Goodrum netted his first goal of the season in the 69th minute when he knocked in a rebound of a shot by senior midfielder
Ben Davidson.
With 8:30 remaining, Goodrum upped the margin to 3-0 when he took a crossing pass from Lozano and scored his second goal on a shot to the bottom right corner of the goal.

Danny Reynolds completed the scoring for the Seahawks in the 85th minute when he tallied his first marker of the season on a free kick from 20 yards out.

Ryan Cretens made three saves to secure the shutout for the Seahawks, who outshot Stetson by a 10-7 margin.
Redshirt senior goalkeeper Braeden Luna recorded one save in a losing effort for the Hatters.
