Anna Knox, UNCW overcame a six-run deficit to complete a sweep of its Colonial Athletic Association softball series at Drexel by defeating the Dragons, 8-7, at the Vidas Athletic Complex on Sunday morning.
The win elevated the Seahawks' record to 15-22 overall and 5-7 in the CAA. Drexel, meanwhile, fell to 13-19-2 on the season with a 3-9 mark against league foes.
UNCW, which played its fifth consecutive one-run game, rallied from a 7-1 deficit by scoring seven runs on five hits and three Drexel errors to secure the victory. Fox hit a solo home run with one out in the inning to trim the deficit to 7-2 before Knox's three-run blast with two outs gave the Seahawks the one-run advantage at 8-7.
Knox went 1-for-3 in the victory with her second home run of the season while Fox tallied her team-leading third homer of the year in a 1-for-4 effort. The duo spearheaded the Seahawks' seven-hit attack in the victory.
Sophomore
Rylee Pate earned the victory in the circle after not allowing a hit or an earned run over the final 3.1 innings with three strikeouts.
Inside The Box Score: UNCW was 9-for-15 in advancement opportunities and 4-for-12 with runners in scoring position … The Seahawks induced 10 ground ball outs by Drexel in the victory while the Dragons forced UNCW into 11 fly ball outs.

Kali Jones has reached base in six straight outings … Jones also finished the weekend with a five-game hitting streak after going 1-for-4 in the series finale … UNCW has now won eight consecutive meetings against Drexel and holds a 24-23 advantage in the all-time series … The Seahawks are now 4-1 in their last five outings … UNCW hit multiple home runs in the same game for the first time this season.
