Lyberty Anderson carded a one-under-par 71 as UNCW remained in third place through two complete rounds at the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship at The Reserve Club at St. James Plantation on Saturday.
The Seahawks, who shot a 306 team score in the second round, are 13 strokes behind the College of Charleston, which held onto its first round lead over Delaware. The Cougars are ahead of the defending CAA champion Blue Hens by 11 strokes through 36 holes.
Anderson, the reigning CAA individual champion, moved into second place after posting five birdies in the second round, including back-to-back birdies on the eighth and ninth holes.
Sophomore
Thao My Nguyen is tied for 10th place through 36 holes after shooting a six-over-par 78 while freshman
Rachael Mast holds a share of 14th place at 11-over-par (78-77=155).
Junior
Ellinoora Moisio (78-80=158) and senior
Kayla Thompson (80-84=164) round out the Seahawks' contingent in a tie for 20th and 24th places, respectively.
Up Next: The final round of the CAA Championship, which started on Saturday with the first nine holes, will continue on Sunday morning with tee times starting at 8 a.m. from the 10th tee.
