Emily Langkamp tallied three hits and junior
Anna Hessenthaler drove in two runs as UNCW split a pair of games against North Carolina A&T and Sacred Heart to open the Seahawk Spring Showcase at Boseman Field on Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who moved their record to 6-11 on the season, blanked North Carolina A&T in the opener by a 4-0 margin before dropping a 6-3 verdict to Sacred Heart in eight innings.
Langkamp went 1-for-2 in the win over North Carolina A&T before registering her third multi-hit effort of the season by going 2-for-4 against the Pioneers. Hessenthaler, meanwhile, drove in two of the Seahawks' runs in the victory over North Carolina A&T.
Seven other Seahawks tallied a hit in the doubleheader while seven players scored a run.
Juniors
Haley Lenderman and
Laurel Koontz combined to throw a three-hit shutout in the win over North Carolina A&T. Lenderman, who evened her record at 2-2, allowed just two hits over 4.0 innings before Koontz closed out the game with just one hit over the final three frames to earn her first save of the year.

How It Happened vs. Sacred Heart: Sacred Heart broke a 3-all tie by plating three runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 6-3 lead the Pioneers did not relinquish. The Pioneers used a pair of RBI singles in addition to a two-out error to build the advantage.
