WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Stanford jets more than 2,800 miles across the country this week to take on host UNCW on Friday in the first appearance by a Power 5 school at Trask Coliseum in a decade.

The Cardinal of the Pac-12 Conference become the first Power 5 team to play in Wilmington since Wake Forest of the Atlantic Coast Conference downed the Seahawks, 80-69, on Dec. 16, 2009.

The two clubs tangle at 7 p.m. at Trask Coliseum as former college roommates C.B. McGrath (UNCW) and Jerod Haase (Stanford) square off for the first time as head coaches. The two played together in their college days at the University of Kansas.

Live Seahawk Digital Network (SDN) coverage of the UNCW-Stanford contest begins at 6:45 p.m. with Mike Vaccaro, the "Voice of the Seahawks," and color analyst Marty Feurer on the call. Visit UNCWsports.com/SDN for live audio and video coverage.

A radio broadcast of the game may be heard on 95.9 FM "The Breeze" | WKXB HD 2 – 95.9 FM and 99.9 HD2 and live stats are available at UNCWStats.com.

UNCW is coming off a tough 97-93 overtime loss at Campbell in the 2018-19 season opener on Tuesday in Buies Creek. The Seahawks forced an extra session on a banked three-pointer by redshirt junior guard Ty Taylor with three seconds remaining in regulation, only to have prolific scorer Chris Clemmons notch all 15 of his team's points in OT to lift the Camels.

Taylor turned in a spectacular performance in the start of his second full season with the club. The Grandview, Mo., product poured in a career-high 29 points, including 6-of-10 behind the arc, and added eight rebounds and three assists to fill up the stat sheet.

The Cardinal, who conclude the two-game swing at North Carolina on Monday, broke away from Seattle in the second half for a 96-74 decision on Tuesday at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif. Sophomore forward KZ Okpala made 8-of-12 field goals and 11-of-13 at the charity stripe as the Cardinal shot 60 percent in the second half and outscored the Redhawks, 56-38, after the break.

THE STORYLINES

WHITE OUT AT TRASK: In the first of a series of special Color Games this season, fans are asked to wear white apparel to the game.

CACOK ROCKS: Senior forward Devontae Cacok is poised for a big year. The First-Team All-CAA selection, who posted 22 double-doubles in 2017-18, was named to the Karl Malone Watch List and a First-Team Mid-Major All-American by NBC Sports. He had 19 points and 13 rebounds in his season debut at Campbell.
