DURHAM, North Carolina – Redshirt senior guard
Shrita Parker scored a career-high 36 points, including 21 in the second half, as UNCW outlasted N.C. Central to earn an 89-82 victory over the Eagles at McDougald-McLendon Arena on Tuesday afternoon.
The Seahawks, who were playing just their second road game of the season, improved to 4-1 on the season while handing the Eagles their fifth consecutive loss.
Parker, who scored in double figures for the fifth consecutive game, made 10-of-16 shots from the floor, including a 4-for-5 showing from long range, while hitting 12-of-13 free throws.

Ahyiona Vason chipped in 13 points off the bench on 4-of-8 shooting from the field while going 5-for-7 from the charity line. Redshirt junior guard

Chinyere Bell came off the bench to add 10 points.
Junior Lanay Rodney led four N.C. Central players in double figures with 17 points after making 6-of-17 field goal attempts and all four of her free throws. Junior forward Paulina Afriyie added 16 points to go with 11 points from freshman guard Dasmine Kasey and 10 markers from junior guard Shontai Totten.
Key Moment: Parker scored 14 of her 36 points in the third quarter as the Seahawks broke a 44-all tie at the intermission by outscoring the Eagles, 24-15, during the frame.
