WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore forward
Emil Elveroth posted his second consecutive two-goal performance to lead No. 11 UNCW to a 3-0 non-conference victory over No. 21 NC State in front of 2,028 fans at UNCW Soccer Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Seahawks, who authored their third straight shutout, upped their record to 11-2-1 while NC State dipped to 8-4-2 on the season.
Elveroth scored twice in a 77-second span in the first half to give the Seahawks a 2-0 lead. With 17:45 remaining in the opening stanza, he scored off a feed from senior midfielder

Junior forward
Phillip Goodrum, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association Player-of-the-Week, netted an insurance goal just under eight minutes into the second half when he scored off a give-and-go pass from Elveroth.

Ryan Cretens tallied two saves to record his seventh shutout of the season as NC State outshot the Seahawks by a 7-5 margin.
