UNCW Takes Second Straight With Sweep Of Morgan State

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Juniors Anna Moss and Maddy Kline collected 10 kills apiece as UNCW hit a season-high .284 in sweeping Morgan State (25-20, 25-17, 25-13) on Saturday at Trask Coliseum in the Courtyard by Marriott Classic.

The Seahawks reeled off their second straight win to move to 5-6 on the season while the Bears dropped to 1-11.

UNCW freshman Brynn Montgomery added seven kills, 14 assists and five digs while Michaela White added 14 assists and seven digs. Moss led the Seahawks with five blocks as the Seahawks finished with a 7-4 advantage in blocks.

MSU's Cristen Coryatt held match-high honors with 11 kills but the Bears were held to a .035 hitting average.

UNCW's Halle Hunt and MSU's Jasmin Hubbard each had a match-high 11 digs.

UNCW closes out the tournament with a 7:30 p.m. start Saturday against Western Michigan in the conference championship. The Broncos swept Liberty in the day's first match.
