Duke Prevails In Three Over Volleyhawks

 
DURHAM, North Carolina – Maddy Kline had 10 kills and Michaela White posted a double-double, but UNCW fell 3-0 (29-27, 25-19, 25-20) to Duke in the first match of the Duke Invitational on Friday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

The loss drops UNCW to 2-2 on the season while the Blue Devils upped their mark to 4-0.

White fashioned her second double-double the season with team-highs of 16 assists and 16 digs. Brynn Montgomery added 11 assists while Katie McCullough chipped in 10 digs.

Duke limited UNCW to a season-low .036 hitting average while out-blocking the Seahawks, 9.5-8.

Summer Brown led the charge at the net for DU with seven total blocks.

Offensively, Cadie Bats and Payton Schwantz paced Duke with 13 and 11 kills, respectively.

The Seahawks take on South Carolina at 5 p.m. in the second match of the day for both teams on Friday.
