HARRISONBURG, Virginia – James Madison used a pair of first half goals to take an early lead en route to a 2-0 Colonial Athletic Association victory over No. 15 UNCW at Sentara Park on Saturday evening.

The win allowed the Dukes (6-5-3) to move into a tie for second place with William & Mary and Charleston in the CAA standings with a 3-1-2 league mark. The Seahawks, meanwhile, dropped to 9-4-0 overall and 4-2-0 in league play.

The Dukes took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when senior Joe Vyner collected a loose ball in the penalty box and scored his second goal of the season.

Sophomore Ben Dao upped the advantage to 2-0 with 6:41 remaining in the opening stanza with his fourth goal of the year off an assist from graduate student Yannick Franz.

Redshirt freshman goalkeeper TJ Bush made three saves to earn the shutout for James Madison while redshirt junior Ryan Cretens notched three saves in the loss for UNCW.
