WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Junior outfielder
Taylor Newton drove in the game's lone run with a double in the top of the fourth inning as No. 9 James Madison swept its Colonial Athletic Association series over UNCW with a 1-0 victory against the Seahawks at Boseman Field on Saturday afternoon.
The Dukes improved to 25-2 overall and 3-0 in the CAA with the victory while UNCW dropped to 19-12 overall with an 0-3 mark in league play.
Newton's double to center field accounted for the lone scoring in the game as the teams combined to record just two hits in a matchup of the CAA's two best pitching teams.
