WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Senior guard
Jazmon Gwathmey scored a game-high 25 points with five rebounds and five assists as James Madison extended its winning streak to 14 straight games with a 77-41 victory over UNCW in a Colonial Athletic Association game at Trask Coliseum on Friday night.

The Dukes, who secured the CAA regular season title and top seed in the CAA Tournament, improved to 21-5 overall and 14-1 in league play. Meanwhile, the Seahawks dropped to 7-20 overall with a 3-13 mark in CAA games.

One of four JMU players to score in double figures, Gwathmey scored 17 of her 25 points in the first half as the Dukes surged out to a 35-25 lead at the intermission. She made 9 of 16 shots from the floor, including a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc, and converted all four of her free throw attempts.

Hailee Barron came off the bench to contributed 12 points. Jones also posted a game-high 11 rebounds in the victory.

Madison Raque each tallied 10 points to lead UNCW. Cole also added four rebounds while Raque contributed two rebounds with a steal and a blocked shot.

How It Happened: After battling to a 15-14 lead in the first quarter, the Dukes outscored UNCW by a 20-11 count in the second quarter for a 35-25 lead they did not relinquish. James Madison pulled away in the second half by outscoring the Seahawks, 42-16. Â
