WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Sophomore pitcher
Sarah Davis blasted a two-run home run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning as UNCW outlasted Bucknell to earn its sixth straight win with a 3-1 victory over the Bison at Boseman Field on Friday evening.
The Seahawks, who played their 10th straight home game, improved to 8-2 on the season while Bucknell dropped to 2-4 with its fourth straight loss.
Davis, who also pitched a complete game effort for the Seahawks, gave UNCW the victory when she hit her third home run of the year in the ninth inning. She also scatted six hits and allowed just one run en route to her third victory of the season.
