UNCW Returns Home to Face Drexel in CAA Play

Game Notes | Live Stats
WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Looking to return to its winning ways, the UNCW men's soccer team opens a two-game homestand on Saturday night by welcoming Drexel to UNCW Soccer Stadium for a Colonial Athletic Association contest.

Opening kick-off between the Seahawks and the Dragons is slated for 7 p.m. Live stats for the game will be available via UNCWStats.com.

The Seahawks, who are 6-2-2 overall and 1-1-1 in the CAA, are hoping a return to their home field can bring them a victory. UNCW is winless in its last two games, earning a 0-0 tie at James Madison last Saturday before dropping a 3-0 decision against No. 2 North Carolina on Tuesday night.

Senior forward Colin Bonner continues to lead the CAA with six goals and 17 points while also contributing five assists. Junior goalkeeper Sean Melvin paces the conference with a 0.91 goals against average.

Drexel brings a 2-9-1 overall record and a 1-3-0 conference mark into Saturday's game. The Dragons will be trying to rebound from a 1-0 loss against Columbia in a non-conference outing at Vidas Field on Tuesday night.

The Dragons have been limited to just 7 goals in 12 games this year, including two goals in the last five outings. Sophomore midfielder Colin McGlynn leads the Drexel offense with two goals and one assist. Meanwhile, junior Tyler Afflerbach and redshirt freshman Jacob Jordan have teamed up to handle the goalkeeping duties.

UNCW leads the all-time series by a 9-4-0 margin and won the last meeting by a 3-0 count last year in Philadelphia.
