WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – Junior midfielder
Kellen Foster scored the game-winning goal with 1:27 left in the second overtime period as UNCW rallied to earn a 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association victory over William & Mary at Martin Family Stadium on Saturday evening.
The Seahawks improved to 8-3-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the CAA with the win while William & Mary, which is now 4-7-2 overall and 1-5-0 in the league, suffered its fourth consecutive loss. The win also allowed the Seahawks to secure a berth in the six-team CAA Tournament field.
Foster, who tallied his first goal of the season, took a corner kick by freshman midfielder
Ben Fisher and scored on a 10-yard shot to give the Seahawks their second win in the last three games.
The Tribe broke a scoreless tie in the 61st minute when junior forward
Reilly Maw took a crossing pass from senior forward
Jackson Eskay and scored his first goal of the season.
UNCW tied the game at 1-1 with 17:13 remaining by virtue of an own goal after a cross by Fisher was deflected into the goal by a William & Mary defender.

Sean Melvin made two saves for the Seahawks, who were outshot by a 13-10 margin.
