WILMINGTON, North Carolina – With its sights set on moving up the Colonial Athletic Association standings, the UNCW men's soccer team will face its third nationally-ranked opponent of the season on Wednesday night with a visit from No. 11 Elon at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. Originally set for Ashley High School, the game is returning to the UNCW campus.

Live stats for Wednesday's game will be available by logging onto UNCWStats.com and a live video broadcast can be seen via the Seahawk Digital Network.

Now 7-2-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the CAA, the Seahawks got back in the win column on Saturday night by posting a 3-1 victory over Drexel at rain-soaked UNCW Soccer Stadium. UNCW broke through in the second half by scoring three goals, including the first goal of the season from sophomore Brayden Smith.

Senior forward Colin Bonner continues to lead the CAA in scoring. The Senior CLASS Award candidate netted his league-leading seventh goal of the season in the win over Drexel on Saturday, giving him a CAA-high 19 points on the season. Freshman midfielder Ben Fisher ranks third in the league with 15 points after tallying his sixth goal of the year against the Dragons.

No. 11 Elon brings a 10-2-0 overall record and a 3-1-0 mark in conference play into Wednesday's contest. The Phoenix earned a 1-0 non-conference victory over Lipscomb on Saturday night at Rudd Field.

Elon's offense has been balanced this year with 17 different players tallying a point, including nine different goal scorers. Senior midfielder James Brace paces the Phoenix with four goals and three assists while freshman forward Jaiden Fortune has added three goals with a team-high four assists.

UNCW and Elon will be meeting for the eighth time in the all-time series. Elon holds a 4-2-1 advantage over the Seahawks after claiming a 2-1 victory in last year's game at UNCW Soccer Stadium. Six of the previous seven meetings have been decided by a goal or less.

Wednesday's game will also feature the CAA's top two scoring offenses as Elon and UNCW are tied for the league lead with 26 goals. Conversely, UNCW leads the league with just 10 goals allowed while Elon ranks second with 11 goals against in 12 games.
