DAVIDSON, North Carolina –
Meredith Peacock's 11 kills and no hitting errors fueled a tremendous hitting match for the Seahawks as UNCW swept High Point, 3-0, Saturday at the Wildcat Classic at Belk Arena.
The Seahawks ran their record to 9-1 with their seventh consecutive win while the Panthers dipped to 2-6 with the non-conference loss.
Peacock led all hitter with a .733 hitting average with 11 kills and no errors in 15 attacks.
Morgan Kline added 10 kills and hit .360. UNCW didn't commit a hitting error in the set and just two in the third set. The Seahawks outhit the Panthers, .353 to .159.
UNCW cruised to a 25-11 win in the first set, but in set two High Point held close to the Seahawks until NCW rattled off the last three points for the win.
The Seahawks never trailed in either of the last two sets.
Haley Barnes led High Point with 11 kills and Wavie Chin added 18 digs. Gabi Mirand held match-high honors with 29 assists for the Panthers.
Morgan Owney collected 16 digs and Kline completed a double-double with 11 digs.
Peacock had four total blocks.
