Brandon Sans, a 2019 graduate of UNCW, joined his alma mater’s Athletic Communications staff on a permanent basis in July 2022. He was elevated to Director of Athletic Communications in June 2025.

Sans’ primary responsibilities include providing statistical, biographical and historical information for the Seahawks' men's basketball, men's soccer, softball and men's and women's golf programs. He has also worked with the UNCW women's basketball, women's soccer, cross country and track & field teams during his time in the Port City of Wilmington.

In 2026, Sans created and directed the "Tidal Rising" docuseries showcasing the rich history of UNCW men's basketball in honor of the Seahawks' 75th season. This five-part documentary focuses on the history of the UNCW men's basketball program from its beginnings as a junior college program in 1951-52. The series chronicles the Seahawks' rise to the championship-caliber program that exists today while highlighting milestone moments, including the opening of Trask Coliseum, joining the Coastal Athletic Association, winning conference championships and numerous postseason runs, including appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Sans also created the nickname "Coliseum of Chaos" to brand and promote the electric game-day atmosphere inside Trask Coliseum.

A native of Fayetteville, Sans promoted the UNCW men's basketball team's historic 2024-25 season that concluded with the program's league-record seventh Coastal Athletic Association Championship and berth to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. During that season, Sans also oversaw the production of a multi-part short series titled "A Day with John Fanta," in which national basketball analyst John Fanta journeyed through Wilmington and the Seahawk basketball programs.

Sans returned to UNCW in early 2022 and publicized the UNCW softball program's first CAA Championship and subsequent NCAA Regional appearance as well as softball's 2024 championship and berth to the Athens Regional. He has also highlighted numerous athletic and academic achievements by Seahawk student-athletes and staff, including Major League Soccer draft picks, NCAA Golf Individual Qualifiers, NCAA Women of the Year nominees, and conference, regional and national awards and accolades.

During his academic career at UNCW, Sans served on the sports staff, and later as Sports Editor, for The Seahawk, the school’s independent student newspaper, where he covered UNCW’s athletic programs and fanbase through game recaps, interviews and feature stories.

Sans completed an internship with the UNCW Athletic Communications office during his senior year. He aided game operations and media coverage for UNCW Athletics, a role he continued from 2020-21.

While in school, Sans completed two hospitality internships with The Walt Disney Company at its flagship resort in Orlando, Fla.

Sans earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from UNCW in Dec. 2019. He went on to complete an online Master's program in Sports Management from the University of Kansas in 2022.

In his spare time, Sans enjoys exploring the sites and bites of Wilmington and traveling with his fiancée, Savannah. He is an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Washington Commanders.
