Jeff Yasalonis joined the program in June of 2023 following several seasons as an assistant on the staff at the nationally-ranked junior college program at Cape Fear Community College.
While with the Sea Devils, Yasalonis helped the program to back-to-back appearances in the NJCAA Division II national championship tournament. During that span, CFCC fashioned a record of 39-14 overall and 22-4 in Region 10.
Yasalonis served as an assistant at Rider University in the 2020-21 season and helped the Broncs to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1996. The Broncs rolled through the Metro Atlantic tournament, dropping just two sets, before facing perennial power UCLA in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
While with the Rider program, Yasalonis worked primarily with the offense, servers and blockers. The Broncs featured MAAC Player of the Year Morgan Romano and the Setter of the Year in Anilee Sher.
Yasalonis played collegiately at the University of Mount Olve, where he served as captain of the Trojans for three seasons.
“I am excited to be a part of the Seahawks Family here at UNCW,” said Yasalonis. I am passionate about the game of volleyball and being a guiding light for our Student-Athletes. Being able to give back to a game that helped raise me is truly a blessing!”
Yasalonis graduated from the University of Mount Olive in 2018 with 2 Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Analytics.
