Cohen,who was hired on Aug. 24, 2021, comes to the program following two seasons as an assistant on the coaching staff at Eastern Washington.
“Collin is a great addition to our staff, he fits in with our style of coaching and training here at UNCW,” said Hampton. “He will work primarily with our setters and our offensive system. Collin brings experience, knowledge and great training technique he learned while coaching at Utah and Eastern Washington. We are excited to welcome Collin into our Hawk family."
While at EWU, Cohen was involved in all facets of the program including camps, offensive and defensive coordination, recruiting and operations.
Before Eastern Washington, Cohen served on the staff at Utah as a volunteer assistant coach. The Utes posted a 19-14 record overall and 10-10 in the perennially tough Pac 12 Conference and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
While in Salt Lake City, Cohen served as the defensive coordinator and headed up scouting efforts.
Cohen got his start in the coaching ranks as the head coach of the men’s program at Missouri Valley College. While with the Vikings, he also was an assistant with the women’s program.
Cohen played two seasons at Purdue Ft. Wayne as the Mastodons reached the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association tournaments. He began his collegiate career at Santa Barbara City College.
