Chris Bizot was named the head coach of the UNCW women’s tennis program in July 2026.
Bizot brings more than two decades of collegiate coaching experience to Wilmington, compiling a 667-296 career record as a head coach. He most recently served as the head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis programs at UT Tyler, where he led the Patriots through one of the most successful stretches in program history.
During his second stint at UT Tyler (2022-26), Bizot guided the women’s team to its first Lone Star Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament quarterfinal appearance in 2026. On the men’s side, he led the Patriots to four consecutive Lone Star Conference championships and four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including a national semifinal appearance in 2025 and a quarterfinal finish in 2024. He previously coached both programs at UT Tyler from 2004-16.
Between his tenures with the Patriots, Bizot spent five seasons (2017-22) as the head women’s tennis coach at Angelo State, rebuilding the program following a 32-year hiatus. He led the Belles to three Lone Star Conference regular-season championships, three NCAA South Central Regional appearances and a 76-27 overall record while consistently ranking among the nation’s top 15 teams.
Bizot began his head coaching career at Palm Beach Atlantic, where he led the men’s and women’s tennis programs from 2002-04. During his tenure, the Sailfish women’s team captured the NCCAA National Championship, and he was named the NCCAA National Coach of the Year.
He began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach at Mississippi College, helping the men’s program win the American Southwest Conference Championship.
Throughout his career, Bizot has earned 18 American Southwest Conference East Division Coach of the Year honors, four Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year awards, three ITA South Central Region Coach of the Year honors and two ITA West Region Coach of the Year recognitions.
