Will Heaney completed his third season as a volunteer assistant coach on the Seahawks’ staff during the 2021 campaign.
Heaney, a native of Maryport, England, played five seasons for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the United Soccer League after playing in the Newcastle United Academy system.
In addition to his duties with the Seahawks, Heaney serves as the Girls’ ECNL Director for the Wilmington Hammerheads youth program. In his first year with the program, Heaney oversaw the 03 Ladies team, which reached the playoffs in its first ECNL season. Three additional teams reached the playoffs during his second campaign.
Heaney also oversees the Developmental Player Program for the Wilmington Hammerheads club and holds USSF B, C and D coaching licenses.
Heaney resides in Wilmington with his wife, Kaylyn.
