Justin Bryant joined the UNCW women’s soccer coaching staff as an assistant coach in February, 2017.
“Justin brings a wealth of experience to our coaching staff,” said Head Coach Paul Cairney. “He has an excellent understanding of the game from both a field player and goalkeeper perspective. I know our young corps of players will enjoy working with him.”
A 2001 graduate of Elon, Bryant joins the coaching staff after spending four years as a coach for the Triangle Futbol Club. He also served two years as the Director of Goalkeeping at N.C. State from 2013-15.
Bryant also spent eight years as an assistant coach at Elon from 1997-2005, helping the Phoenix capture the Big South Conference championship in 1999. He also coached goalkeepers for the North Carolina Olympic Development Program during that time.
The Melbourne, Fla., native started his coaching career at Radford, where he served as an assistant coach for the women’s team from 1991-93. He moved on to Queens College in 1994 where he worked as an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s programs.
Bryant played three years at Radford from 1984-87 before a stint with the Orlando Lions of the American Soccer League from 1987-88. He was a member of the 1995 Cocoa Expos team that reached the USISL finals.
