Phu Khine

UNCW women’s golf Head Coach Cindy Ho has announced the hiring of all-time Seahawk great Phu Khine as an assistant coach.

Khine played for the Seahawks from 2018 to 2023 before serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the previous two seasons. During her time in college, Khine collected numerous accolades, highlighted by aiding UNCW to the 2019 Coastal Athletic Association Championship with individual medalist honors as a freshman.

“We are very excited to have Phu officially a part of the Seahawk coaching staff after an outstanding career here and serving as a volunteer coach for us the past 2 years,” said Ho. “Phu embodies the character and leadership we want on our staff, she knows our culture, what it takes to win and the type of student-athletes we want representing our team and UNCW.

“Phu was a tremendous athlete and ambassador during her career, always well regarded not only for her competitiveness but for her incredible sportsmanship. I look forward to her impacting our program now as a coach, empowering and developing our Seahawks.”

A Three-Time All-CAA Selection, including a First-Team nod in 2019 in which she also was named the league’s Rookie of the Year, Khine holds the second-lowest single-season scoring average (72.9 in 2019-20). The Yangon, Myanmar, native authored 11 top 10 finishes, seven top five marks and won three collegiate tournaments during her playing career.

Khine also won the PGA Works Collegiate Championship two times (2021, 2023) in three years before turning pro after earning her degree in Business Administration. She was the recipient of the 2022 CAA Leadership and Sport Excellence Award.

She was a member of the Myanmar National Women’s Amateur Team before her time at UNCW, representing her home country at the 2025 and 2017 Southeast Asian Games, along with the 2018 Queen Sirikit Cup and attended the prestigous IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
