Coach Magnusson completed his second season with the Seahawks, but his first with the indoor program, in 2018. He served as a volunteer with the beach program last spring and will serve as a volunteer assistant coach with the indoor team.
Prior to coming to UNCW, Magnusson served as an assistant coach for Sweden’s Junior National team in 2017.
From 2014-17, he was the head coach of the Women’s A-Team for the Gislaved Volleybollklub, which competed in the Elite Series.
Before moving into the coaching ranks, Magnusson played from 1002-07 with several clubs in his native Sweden. He finished his playing career in 2007 with KFUM Jönköping in the first division.
He graduated in 2004 from Sunnebogymnasiet in Ljungby, Sweden and later earned his masters at Linnaeus University in Växjö, Sweden, in 2010.
